Generally, due to
the minimum holding period of seven years, as prescribed by
the Act
constituting Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins
the acquisition of shares must be considered as a long-term
investment. After having held shares for seven years, a
shareholder can submit a request to the Company for redemption.
Pursuant to the provisions set out in its prospectus, if the shareholder redeems all or a portion of its shares held for the mandatory seven-year holding period, the shareholder will not be entitled to claim a tax credit for any subscription made during the current issue and for any subsequent subscription.
Consequently, shareholders who, during the 2011 issue (from March 1, 2011 until February 29, 2012), opt for the full or partial redemtion of shares, will not be eligible for the tax credit in the 2010 taxation year and subsequently.
In addition, under the provisions of the Act, you can request Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins to redeem at any time all or a part of your shares or fractional shares, under certain specific circumstances:
